In our clients current implementation of Ultimate Locator, all the data is being exported from their CRM application into a flat file. This, in turn, is manually uploaded to the server on a monthly basis. The zip code field in the CRM app includes the zip+4 code (the five number zip followed by four additional numbers). When we upload the data, it appears that any entry with the +4 numbers is excluded from the zip code search, regardless of the search radius. These entries do appear, however, if you do an advanced search by country or state.

So, in lieu of having the client truncate the zip (which will undoubtedly lead to errors) is there a configuration or code change we could make?

Hello,

Ultimate Locator does not support zip+4 data by default.

You have a full USA database of zip codes along with Long/Lat coordinates. That database does not have zip+4 codes in it, it only has 5 digit zip codes.

In order to get distance calculations, the zip code that is entered into the search box, must match a zip code in the zip code database, then your location records must have a match in thier zip code and also in the zip code database.

All this must match up in order to calculate two distances. Thus, if you wanted to use zip+4 codes, you would have to upload a zip+4 zip code database with lat/long coordinates.

With that said, it is probably easiest to truncate your data in MS Excel and have your zip code fields reduced to have only 5 digits.
