do i simply choose "add zip codes" in the administrative section for adding Canadian postal codes?
Yes, you want to "append" your canadian codes to your existing usa codes. This way your database will have both.
You have the option to 'add to' or to 'delete all first and import new' when using the Import Zip Codes tool.
Also, when adding Canadian postal codes, you will need to import all the files 1-by-1. Because the Canadian postal codes are very large files and they must be split up into smaller more manageable files.
